Caring Olivia's Paisley Foodbank Army is on the march - Daily Record: A caring schoolgirl has proved she’s a class act ... by giving up her pocket money for Lent so the cash can be used to help families who rely on foodbanks.

Ten-year-old Olivia Ferguson, of Tenters Way, Paisley, was spurred into action after seeing an appeal for donations to foodbanks a couple of weeks ago.

Watertown Daily Times | NNY Community Foundation and its Youth Philanthropy Council award grants: Watertown High School students learned an important lesson about money Tuesday: just because you have the cash doesn’t mean you have to spend it all.

That’s exactly what members of the fall group of the Northern New York Community Foundation’s Youth Philanthropy Council at Watertown High School did, as they made $9,500 in grant recommendations to the foundation’s board of directors, instead of the full $10,000 they were allotted.

Nanticoke Benefits from Young Philanthropists - By Nanticoke Health Services - CapeGazette.com - Covering Delaware's Cape Region - Inland Bays, Atlantic Ocean, Rehoboth Beach, Lewes, Milton, Dewey Beach, USA: Recently, a group of local girls have become passionate about helping cancer patients in the community. This past fall, 12 year old Sierra Scott along with her mother attended a quarter auction benefiting a cancer patient. Sierra enjoys making duct tape bracelets and had some with her that night. Sierra, knowing that many cancer patients need help with things like transportation to their treatments, decided to sell her bracelets that night at the auction and donated all the money raised to Nanticoke’s Cancer Care Services. Sierra took the microphone and talked to the crowd about her plans and the guests were more than happy to purchase bracelets. In November, Sierra donated the money to the Cancer Care Center and says she plans to do more fundraising for cancer patients. In addition to her bracelets, Sierra is making clay charms.

Binghamton University graduate students party for charity - Pipe Dream: Students, teachers and community members gathered together Friday night for “Party with a Purpose” in Downtown Binghamton.

A collaboration between the Master of Public Administration (MPA) Graduate Student Organization and the College of Community and Public Affairs (CCPA), the sixth annual event was a chance for students and faculty alike to network, mingle and raise money for a local nonprofit, and was entirely orchestrated by students in the MPA program.

Philanthropy contest aimed at Fremont-area youths : State: FREMONT — A new contest in Fremont is aimed at teaching children the value of giving back to their community.

The contest has been launched by the Fremont Area Community Foundation.

In the contest, youths are asked to propose projects that will better the community.
