Winners of first youth contest announced during celebration: OLUMBUS -- More than a dozen projects were submitted to the first Youth Philanthropy Contest, and all will receive funding thanks to grant money and support from the community.
The Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce held its annual celebration Monday night at The New World Inn. The occasion not only highlighted milestones of the chamber and recognition of multi-year members, but also acknowledged winners of the youth contest.

Nonprofits accept $7,000 in grants from central Maine JMG students7 organizations receive grants from area youth | The Morning Sentinel, Waterville, ME: Jumpstart Our Youth was founded by the Unity Foundation in Unity, Maine in partnership with the Maine Community Foundation and Unitel, Inc. to teach young people about the role of nonprofits, smart funding and community service. Now in its fifth year, the JOY program is the only student-driven philanthropy program in Maine and has awarded approximately $250,000 to nonprofits across the state.

10-year-old Downers Grove Resident to Receive Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy Award - Yahoo! News: On May 10, 2013, the Association of Fundraising Professionals Chicago Chapter will recognize Nate with the Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy Award. It was Mikayla’s grandfather, Chuck Coughlin, who nominated Nate for the philanthropy award. Mikayla says that thanks to Nate and “because of organizations like St. Baldrick’s, I have been in remission for four years.”
