When Washington-Kosciusko Elementary teacher Luke Merchlewitz’s students started a philanthropy project two years ago, the first thing they learned to do was pronounce the word. “Phil-an-thro-py,” Merchlewitz enunciated to the first-graders. This year, second-graders will get a hands-on lesson in philanthropy when they get to dole out a $1,000 grant."
