A recent survey suggests this is the case. The survey results indicated that some 84 per cent of Canadians from 13 to 19 volunteer at least five hours a year to charitable causes. This is compared with 42 per cent of Canadians overall. And when it comes to donating their own money, much of it earned in part-time jobs, teens report giving an average of $293 a year.
