Nanticoke Benefits from Young Philanthropists - By Nanticoke Health Services - CapeGazette.com - Covering Delaware's Cape Region - Inland Bays, Atlantic Ocean, Rehoboth Beach, Lewes, Milton, Dewey Beach, USA: Recently, a group of local girls have become passionate about helping cancer patients in the community. This past fall, 12 year old Sierra Scott along with her mother attended a quarter auction benefiting a cancer patient. Sierra enjoys making duct tape bracelets and had some with her that night. Sierra, knowing that many cancer patients need help with things like transportation to their treatments, decided to sell her bracelets that night at the auction and donated all the money raised to Nanticoke’s Cancer Care Services. Sierra took the microphone and talked to the crowd about her plans and the guests were more than happy to purchase bracelets. In November, Sierra donated the money to the Cancer Care Center and says she plans to do more fundraising for cancer patients. In addition to her bracelets, Sierra is making clay charms.
