New EFC head: Turkey needs to train young philanthropists

New EFC head: Turkey needs to train young philanthropists: "Pointing out that Turkey has a young population compared to the aging population of much of Europe, he said the country must take advantage of this situation. Vilar noted that the Turkish foundation sector is quite dynamic and that it will provide a good source of partnerships for European foundations. 'The most important financial groups [in Turkey] are assuming their responsibility through creation of foundations in many areas. This will help to create an independent sector that will contribute to education, social development and social entrepreneurship,' stated Vilar.

He said philanthropy needs to adapt to today's global challenges and needs to fill the gap in services that are not provided by the government."
