Citizenship project in class inspired North Cow Creek student � Redding Record Searchlight: Triston Ortiz had heard his family talk for years about a charity his cousin's girlfriend runs that gathers toys for impoverished children.
Then three weeks ago when he put together a class project about what citizenship means, something clicked.
"I heard that (she) was donating (soccer) balls to kids that hardly have anything," the 8-year-old Triston said. "So I wanted them to be able to have fun like me."
