Holiday postings

Posting to the Resource Center blogs will be intermittent during the Holidays.

Holiday Notice: AFP IHQ and the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy will close at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014.
- AFP IHQ will reopen on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015.
- The AFP Foundation will be open for one day during the holiday week on Dec. 29, 2014, then close again and reopen on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015. Gifts can be made at any time online or call Diane LaVigna at (518) 360-4736.

Need to Invest in Young Fundraising | Pro Bono Australia: "undraising peak body Fundraising Institute Australia has re-vamped its annual Young Fundraiser award to try to address issues of high turnover of fundraising staff and a lack of ongoing training.

The FIA says it has teamed up with sector consultancy Robejohn to create more learning, development and networking opportunities, and greater recognition of the winners.

The national winner will receive an all-expenses-paid scholarship to attend the 2015 AFP Conference in Baltimore, USA, as well as the opportunity to undertake further FIA professional development courses and to speak at key FIA events throughout the year."

LMHS student starts a charity: Shoes for people’s souls - LancasterOnline: Faith Values: "You see, the shoes are not for him. They are for his self-created charity: Soul Shoes.
Terrill, a 17-year-old junior at Lancaster Mennonite High School, wants to give away refurbished shoes to those who can’t afford them. He plans to take them to the Water Street Ministries and perhaps donate them to groups. And he would love to accumulate a pile of sneakers to hand out before Christmas."
