AFP Chapter members share successes and challenges in building their YIP programs.

AFP Chapter members share successes and challenges in building their YIP programs.
At the 45th Annual AFP International Conference, attendees of the Youth in Philanthropy affinity session shared challenges and successes of youth programs. One of the most prominent issues discussed was the difficulty of establishing continuity of volunteer leadership within the chapters. The group attendees, including members from several chapters, as well as others interested in youth philantrhopy, discussed strategies for developing long-term volunteer support for chapter YIP programs and ways to collaborate with local programs, among other ideas. AFP’s YIP Task Force will work with chapter’s to share components of successful programs including examples of leadership, continuity and resources.
