Students serve up salsa, charity: "Neighbors and her students worked with Youth in Philanthropy, a committee of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, to learn about fundraising.
The project required students to identify a cause, research nonprofits, write a Request for Proposal and select a grant recipient.
Tortolita's Salsa Project also met academic state standards for language arts, math and technology, Neighbors said."
