Conn. Rotarians hold Purple Pinky Day fundraiser - Courant.com: "WALLINGFORD, Conn. —
An October fundraiser at Wallingford middle and high schools turned some fingers purple.

'Purple Pinky Day,' sponsored by the Rotary Club of Wallingford, aimed to raise money to eradicate polio from other countries, and increase awareness about the threat of polio outside the U.S.

Club members collected $1 donations from students during lunch at Moran Middle School, Dag Hammarskjold Middle School, Lyman Hall High School and Sheehan High School, and painted the pinky fingers of classmates purple to symbolize the polio vaccine."
