9-year-old runner will attempt marathon in Antarctica for charity, will spend $12,000 for the chance | Prep Rally - Yahoo! Sports: Toocheck will run in Antartica for a good reason, working toward a goal of raising $1 million for the charity Operation Warm, started by Toocheck's grandfather, which raises money for coats for children who can’t afford them. In that way, running a marathon in Antarctica makes perfect thematic sense. Toocheck also estimates that he will have to run 1 million steps to complete the seven marathons on seven continents. So, there’s another thematic fit.
