Youth hope to better community with projects

Youth hope to better community with projects: Area youth with a vision of how to make their community a better place will have the chance to make a positive change with the help of the Fremont Area Community Foundation.

The foundation announced the winners of its first Youth Philanthropy Contest Wednesday during a ceremony at Midland University. Young people in grades K-12 were invited this spring to compete in the Youth Philanthropy Contest. The contest asked for project ideas that would better the community and could be completed within nine months. Winning projects received a $1,000 grant from the foundation.
