Lincolnville - Statewide Student Philanthropy project wraps up at Point Lookout - Education - VillageSoup: "Jobs for Maine’s Graduates (JMG) middle and high school students from around the state gathered at Ginley Hall at Point Lookout to celebrate the conclusion of the first year of Jumpstart Our Youth – a student philanthropy program launched last fall by Unity Foundation. More than 3200 students across Maine participated through the JMG sites in local grantmaking: developing and evaluating Requests for Proposals, hosting presentations from community nonprofits seeking the funds and working together to reach consensus on where the funds should be awarded. Ultimately each of the 52 groups of students donated $1000 to a local nonprofit, or divided the grant funds to make multiple awards."
